To enhance their mentoring skills of the teachers, a workshop on Effective Mentorship was organised for teachers of Class IX and X on Saturday, January 4, 2020. The participants learnt about the responsibilities of a mentor, characteristics of a good mentor, components of emotional Intelligence, how to enhance EI to improve mentoring skills, mentoring relationship continuum and how to give effective feedback in challenging situations.

Facilitator Madhuchanda Mohanty orientated the participants through various activities like story telling on goal setting, activity on goal setting and 5 finger friendship challenge activity to develop positive characters.

Effective Mentoring is an essential component of teaching-learning process as it provides professional socialization and personal support which facilitates student’s success. Apart from gaining knowledge and skills in a positive manner, children are benefited with an increase of self esteem and improved social skills.
