Sound in Verse – Exploring Onomatopoeia through Poetry

by SAI Admin

23 April, 2025

"Language development flourishes in classrooms where children feel free to express their thoughts and experiment with words."Dr. Jean Feldman

Class VIII students ventured into the rhythmic world of onomatopoeia during a poetry writing session. After being introduced to the power of sound-imitative words, students created imaginative poems infused with auditory richness. With expressions like the whoosh of the wind or the crackle of a campfire, their compositions reflected vivid imagery and a strong grasp of poetic form. Reciting their poems aloud further nurtured confidence, creativity, and linguistic skills.
