SAITED 2019: A MEGA CONFLUENCE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

The 4th edition of SAITED was conducted in a grand way on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. It was inaugurated by Shri Dibya Shankar Mishra, Honourable Minister, Government of Odisha. The Inaugural ceremony was also graced by Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder SAI International Education Group, Shri Sandip Das, Senior Advisor Analysys Mason and Former Managing Director Reliance Jio, Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Vice Chairperson, SAI International Education Group, Shri Nilakantha Panigrahi, Senior Principal, Shri Prakash Sahoo, Principal, Secondary, Ms.Rashmi Pandey, Principal Primary and others.

Shri Mishra in his address urged the students to inculcate two important traits of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik, that is simplicity and humility. He advised the students to follow the principles of discipline, determination and self-belief to soar greater heights of success. He expressed his pleasure to see the happy students and said that the gross domestic happiness index of the School is really high. He also appreciated the effort of Dr. Bijaya Sahoo and Dr. Silpi Sahoo in the making of SAI International Education Group and said, ‘you are seriously grooming the future of our State’.

Dr. Sahoo outlined the objective of SAITED and said that the event aims to develop an inclination for Science and Technology in the students and also plant the seed of entrepreneurship in each child.

Shri Sandip Das delivered the SAITED Talk where he gave an insight into the advent of telephones right from its invention to making it 2G, 3G, 4G and now 5G. He spoke on how 5G – the fifth generation of cellular network technology would benefit the people like being the backbone of Industry 4.4.

Dr Kumar Ranjan, Technical Advisor IDA (Indian Dental Association) Chief Consultant RID and WHO Tobacco Cessation Clinic delivered the MED Talk on Tobacco Abuse in Adults. It was followed by a Nukkad Natak by the Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences students on the same topic, which brought out the theme brilliantly on the stage and connected with the students watching it very well.

There was also a workshop on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Dr Priyabrath Sahoo, Dr Debasis Mishra and Dr Sayantika Sarkar, the Emergency Medicine Team of Doctors from Apollo Hospitals Bhubaneswar. Students of Classes IX to XII from the different schools participated in the CPR Workshop.

The day was filled with numerous activities for students from different schools and classes. Students had great learning experience participating in different activities like Speak out your mind, Just a Minute, TED Q, Science Acapella, Obstacle Course, Space Parade, Nukkad Natak and the E-Sports.

The workshops of Aero-Modelling, Graphic Designing, Photography, Robotics, Crime Forensic, CPR were highly informative and interesting. The Tech Fair showcased the social and environmental consciousness of the students. Companies like FEDCO, SPARC Pvt. Ltd, Batoi as well as Institutes like C.V.Raman, Institute of Life Science etc showcased their innovations in the Tech Fair. The Treasure Hunt added the spice, making the event even more energetic.

The Valedictory Session was held with great spirit and enthusiasm. Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Dr. Silpi Sahoo and Shri Nilakantha Panigrahi gave away the awards to the winners of various competitions. The students enthralled the assemblage with a melodious cultural show. The session ended with a brilliant performance by stand-up Comedian, Shri Aakash Gupta.

SAI International School believes in promoting Science and Technology through various pioneering platforms to induce the spirit of curiosity and creativity amongst the students as well as encourage and empower them to take up innovative scientific activities for a wider contribution to society. The event is participated by students from various schools of Odisha, including students from Shri Harsha School for the Deaf.
