“Tinkering is a way of understanding difficult problems, of wrapping our heads around them and quantifying the unknowns.” – Gever Tulley

The Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) at SAI International Schools provides opportunities for students to explore skills of future like design and computational thinking, adaptive learning and artificial intelligence etc through state-of-the-art technologies and competent faculties.

After being selected by NITI Aayog, Government of India (GOI), the lab was established in January 2018. It is a befitting place for students to learn new things in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and help find solutions through a do-it-yourself approach.

Apart from enabling SAIoneers to give shape to their ideas and learn innovation skills, the school has also started inviting students from other schools who do not have ATL facilities to enhance their scientific temperament.

Twenty students of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir attended a session at Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) of SAI International School on Saturday, November 17, 2018. The students all from Class IX learnt the Basics of Sensors, Process of Ideation and Rapid prototyping and 3-D printing.

They also interacted with Chairman Dr. Bijoy K Sahoo who asked them about their aim in life and inspired them to be more creative and innovative in whatever they undertake. Principal Shri Harish Sanduja appreciated the students for the 3D object painted by them and invited them to come once again with some innovative ideas to be implemented.

As a token of appreciation of their level of interest and hard work, the visiting students were given a 3-D printed Memento.

ATL is an approach of Central government of India to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, creativity amongst Indian Students. It is a step towards a new India.
