We are thrilled to announce that Akshyat Nakshyatra, a Class XI student at SAI International School, was awarded the prestigious Paribesh Ratna Chhatra Sanmman (Environment Jewel Student Award) today at Jaydev Bhawan by the Honourable Minister of Urban Development, Housing, and Public Enterprises.
Akshyat has been passionately promoting medicinal plantation since Class V. During the award ceremony, he shared his insights on the types of trees that should be prioritized for urban plantation campaigns with the Honourable Minister. Akshyat also presented a Sandalwood tree to the Minister as a symbolic gesture.
In addition, Akshyat had the opportunity to interact with the Honourable Speaker of the Odisha Assembly, Surama Padhi. He requested her to initiate a mass campaign for medicinal plantations in the Odisha Vidhan Sabha and Secretariat campus. Both the Honourable Minister and the Speaker commended Akshyat’s efforts and assured him of their support. They have instructed the PCCF (Principal Chief Conservator of Forests) to engage in further discussions with Akshyat.
We are immensely proud of Akshyat's dedication to environmental conservation and his proactive approach in engaging with state leaders to promote sustainable practices.
