The most awaited event of SAI International School is back!

Unwind is returning in its former glory and Team UNWIND, comprising of students from Class XI Commerce & Humanities Students, who worked tirelessly to give it a launch befitting its grand reputation.

The opening address by the chairperson and vice chairperson of Team UNWIND 2022 energized the students and reminded them of the aim of UNWIND, coming together with friends and family, and celebrating all that is dear to us.

The cultural performances were invigorating and just a glimpse of what awaits everyone at the mega-event UNWIND. Such was the compulsion of the performers that the students of Classes I-XII along with the tiny tots of KG-I & KG-II jumped up out of their seats to join them. The drum-off between 10th grader Suman Priyadarshi and Team UNWIND’s own CEO Vivan Patnaik evoked hoots from the crowd at every climactic pause. The sketch was well received by teachers and students alike as the team drew on classroom situations to poke a bit of fun through a well-presented sketch.

The past few years spent during a global pandemic upended our normal way of life. However, team UNWIND 2022 chose to accept the challenge and move forward. As our Managing Director rightly said, “the show must go on,” and so it did. This year UNWIND boasts of a magnificent return in the offline format. The official teaser and launch videos excited the students to no bounds!

The launch and, ultimately, UNWIND itself will be the culmination of tireless efforts put in by each and every member of the team. Drawing from the same, the secretary in her speech quoted Isaac Newton, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Encouraging teamwork, she added that the team inspired her by their meticulous work, determination, and perseverance. Clips of each department and the office bearers were edited together and shown to the students as an introduction to team UNWIND 2022.

To cap a brilliant and successful launch, the Chairperson, Dr. Silpi Sahoo, along with Senior Principal Shri Nilakantha Panigrahi; Principal Secondary, Shri Prakash Sahoo, and Principal Primary Shreemati Rashmi Pandey unveiled the theme and mascot for UNWIND 2022

UNWIND’s theme, FANTASY: Embrace the Unknown, encourages escapism, drawing from the students’ own experiences during the pandemic, and urges them to welcome the unknown with open arms. And who better to drive this message home than the Black Panther? A man who knows not what tomorrow holds but accepts this uncertainty and does what he can to ensure that tomorrow is a better day for his nation and his people.

Following a successful and rewarding launch, Team UNWIND now looks forward to constructive dialogue over the next few weeks, keeping in mind our ultimate goal of making UNWIND 2022 the very best edition of UNWIND yet.
