On September 13, 2024, the Humanities Model Competition, part of the Founder's Memorial Series, took place at SAI International School. This year’s event, themed "Sculpting Tomorrow's Thinkers" and "Architects of Humanities: Constructing the Community," provided a platform for Classes XI and XII students to explore and present complex societal and philosophical issues through innovative discussions and presentations.
The competition featured a range of thought-provoking projects, including "Neural Veil: Odyssey Into Social Empathy," which explored the role of empathy in social interactions, and "Spirituality and Strategic Contract Law," which creatively highlighted essential aspects of contracts through interactive games. Students also tackled topics like "Equality in Quality," "Political Science and the Beauty of Diversity in Literature," "Peer Pressure and Nomophobia," and "Threads of Connections." Other notable projects included "Samudra Manthan," which delved into mythological insights, and "Smoke & Mirrors: The Illusion of Progress Through Scams," critically examining societal perceptions of progress.
Distinguished judges for the competition included Prof. Nibedita Jena, State Advisor in the Department of School and Mass Education, and Prof. Bikram Keshari Mishra, Professor & Head of the Department of Sociology at Ravenshaw University. Their expertise greatly enriched the event, providing valuable feedback and insights.
The Humanities Model Competition of 2024 not only ignited intellectual curiosity but also emphasized the importance of critical thinking and empathy in shaping the future.
