On July 14, 2025, the spirit of curiosity and leadership took flight as a 12-member delegation from SAI International School and SAI International Residential School set off from Biju Patnaik International Airport for the prestigious 15th Harvard Model United Nations India. Their destination was Bengaluru, where the world of diplomacy, debate, and discovery awaited.
The journey continued with a warm welcome at Kempegowda International Airport and a hearty lunch, after which the young delegates stepped into the grandeur of the Hilton Manyata Business Park. Here, the Opening Ceremony unfolded in all its magnificence, marked by an inspiring keynote address from Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, Former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. With her words, she ignited the spark of responsibility in every young leader present, reminding them to debate with integrity, question with courage, and lead with compassion. The conference quickly moved into action as the SAIoneers immersed themselves in their first committee sessions, engaging with pressing global issues across various platforms, including the Arctic Council, the Cuban Missile Crisis, DISEC, and Ad-Hoc committees. With each debate and exchange, their confidence grew, and their voices became part of a larger dialogue of change.
A moment of immense pride came when Tarun Tapan Bhuyan and Syed Ayaan Ali were named among the top 20 delegates from over 400 applicants, earning them an invitation to an exclusive gala dinner with Rohit Subrahmanian, Founder of Athena Education. This recognition reflected not just individual brilliance but also the spirit of excellence that SAI nurtures. Meanwhile, the rest of the delegation embraced the evening with equal enthusiasm, building connections, lobbying, and networking with peers from across the country. The day concluded with a delightful dinner and reflections on a memorable first chapter of their HMUN journey.
