Our chess master, SAIoneer Suhana Jena of Class XI achieved the well-acclaimed title of ‘Champion’ in the U-19 State Level Selection Chess Championship Tournament in the Odisha State Open & Girls Chess Championship 2022 under the aegis of ‘All Odisha Chess Association organized by Srusti Academy of Management. She also became Runners Up in the U-17 category of State- level Chess Tournament at the 5^th Srusti Chess Festival 2022 held from June 8- June 11, 2022.

This tournament was everything driven and immersive that participants would want out of a chess tournament. It received overwhelming participation with a lot of competent players. Nevertheless, Suhana outdid herself with her visualization, patience, strategy, tactics and relentless passion for the game. Suhana will be representing Odisha in the MPL 32nd National Under-17 Open and Girls Chess Championship-2022 to be held July 1, 2022 onwards as organized in association with KIIT, Bhubaneswar on behalf of the ‘All India Chess Federation’.

Most importantly she experienced the thrill of playing in chess tournaments alongside many children who love chess with the passion that they share. That in itself is quite validating. The biggest victory from such tournamentS is that each of these children now has a new light in their eye, a new fire in their belly.
