SAI OLYMPICS 2017 –VALEDICTORY CEREMONY

The 6th SAI Olympics was organized with great colours and enthusiasm. The SAI Olympics 2017 truly reflected the spirit of the students and teachers alike with lots of action and fun. Roars of cheers energized the athletes on the track to give their best.The three days’ event was inaugurated on the 20th of December in presence of the whole school in a very colourful way.

The valedictory function was organized with grandeur and gaiety, in the newly built world class stadium, in the SAI International Residential School campus, on the afternoon of the 23rd of December, where the entire school, teachers, management and the parents assembled. The Chief Guest, Dr R.P. Sharma, IPS ,Director General of Police, Cuttack, Odisha and Guest of Honour, Shri R.Vineel Krishna, IAS Director Sports and Youth Services Department ,Govt.of Odisha reached at 1.30 pm on the ground. At the outset the audience witnessed a few final races followed by prize distribution of the race events.

The Chairman of the SAI International Group of Institution Dr Bijoy K Sahoo in his welcome address expressed his deepest satisfaction over the excitement and the keenness the students showcased and participated whole heartedly in the three days’ SAI Olympics. He was delighted about the new stadium which could be ready by the closing ceremony, with the kind of stature he had dreamt it to be. He put forth all his new ideas about the new school and its sprawling campus besides the new concept specially the education and sports facilities the students of the residential school would be facilitated with.

The Guest of Honour, Shri R.Vineel Krishna, IAS ,Director , Sports and Youth Services Department,Govt.of Odisha in his address showed his extreme happiness to see the stadium and its grandeur and said that it is indeed an honour that a stadium of International standard has come up in the state and it is going to help students build their sporting skills.

The Chief Guest, Dr R.P. Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police, Cuttack, Odisha, in his address to the students said that winning and losing are the two sides of sports and they should take both in their stride and with true sporting spirit, endeavour to achieve in whatever field they wish to go in their lives. The chief guest presented the Olympic Champion Awards and felicitated the CBSE National Gold Medallists of the school.

The closing ceremony was significantly unique with the very impressive cultural presentations which spread a spectrum of colours and hues of patriotism with the theme ADVAIT BHARAT.Large number of participants with their colourful costumes, the props and the overall synchronization of each of the performances amazed the audience. At the end there was a Jumble March Past. The chief guest lowered the sports Flag and declared the 6th SAI Olympics closed. This was followed by the slow march by the House Captains who handed over the flag to the chief Guest.

At the end the Principal Shri Harish Sanduja gave a vote of thanks and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the guests and also cheered the winners and encouraged the participants to keep up the energy even for their academic activities and be winners at all spheres. The Vice Chair person Smt Silpi Sahoo and the Vice principals of the school along with all the teachers were present during the occasion. The parents came in a large number to encourage the children.
