SAI INTERNATIONAL WELCOMES PADMA SHREE DILIP TIRKEY

SAI International hosted a gala event  today, on November 23, 2021, at 11.00 am onwards, to welcome the living legend of Indian Hockey, Padma Shri Dilip Tirkey the former Captain of the Indian Hockey Team. Padma Shri Dipil Tirkey was present  to celebrate and cheer Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021.

Speaking to the eclectic audience, Shri Tirkey praised the School’s in-depth inclusion of sports in the curriculum which is highly essential for the growth and holistic development of children in today’s times.

While addressing the gathering Padma Shri Dilip Tirkey the former, Captain of the Indian Hockey Team, was delighted to see the welcoming response of the students, he also appreciated the best in class sporting infrastructure of the  School.

Senior Principal, SAI International School, Shri Nilakantha Panigrahi,  humbly welcomed the hon’ble guests and addressed the gathering. He said, “SAI International is honoured to host the distinguished guest, at SAI International, games and sport-based activities are a dominant part of the curriculum with an interest in providing a meaningful and culturally situated sporting experience to students. Sport in education is among the most popularly implemented and researched pedagogical models worldwide. By having such guests in the school motivates the students and aligns them with the sporting fraternity and provides an array of exposure.”

Chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo presented a token of appreciation to the esteemed guests and said,” I’m highly obliged that the Hockey players of International fame agreed to address our students, I’m sure our SAIoneers will benefit from their words of wisdom”. Referring to the Founder- Chairman Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, the Chairperson said, “Dr. Bijaya Kumar’s vision to make a better India through education can be attained with the holistic development of the body, mind and spirit through the amalgamation of sports and education.”
