An insightful session of SAI Career Talk was held on November 23, 2022, for the science students of Class XI, based on 'The New Age Careers' in collaboration with Gitam University, one of India's most revered names in Quality Education. The session was conducted by Mr. Chirantan Sen, Regional Head, Gitam University, who guided the students about identifying their areas of interests, developing core abilities, digital learning & providing information regarding a wide range of undergraduate & research programs in streams that include Engineering, Management, Science, Humanities, Law, Architecture, Paramedical, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medical Science & Nursing.
With an objective to motivate students to become a global leader in higher education, this interactive session helped the SAIoneers to have an understanding about the untapped career options of the future by specifying stats from the World Economic Forum. They cited various examples about futuristic & comprehensive education & how it is integral for the future leaders of the country.
The speaker discussed about how the University Grants Commission has come up with the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) programme in which the students have a choice to choose from the prescribed courses, which are referred as core, elective or minor or soft skill courses and they can learn at their own pace and the entire assessment is graded-based on a credit system. The basic idea is to look into the needs of the students so as to keep up-to-date with development of higher education in India and abroad. CBCS aims to redefine the curriculum keeping pace with the liberalisation and globalisation in education. CBCS allows students an easy mode of mobility to various educational institutions spread across the world along with the facility of transfer of credits earned by students.
They further briefed students about various Career options available with GITAM: like New Age Engineering Courses, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, IOT, Cyber Security, New age Science Programs, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Biochemistry, BCA, EVS, Computer Science to help them build future profiles , for the world is constantly changing with technology.
