SAI International Leads the Way in Global Education at Round Square Regional Forum

by SAI Admin

10 November, 2024

SAI International School (SIS) and SAI International Residential School (SIRS) proudly represented India at the Round Square Regional Forum for Schools of South Asia and the Gulf, held from November 8 to 10, 2024. Hosted by Indian School Al Ghubra, Muscat, the conference brought together 88 delegates, including school leaders and educators from 48 schools across six countries: India, Dubai, Oman, Jordan, Armenia, and Pakistan. This forum served as a dynamic platform for fostering international collaboration, cultural exchange, and discussions aimed at advancing Round Square's vision for leadership, sustainability, and community engagement.

The objective of this forum was to bring together educational leaders to exchange innovative ideas and strengthen global partnerships. Through workshops and seminars on themes such as "Global Citizenship," "Sustainability in Education," and "Leveraging Round Square Programs for Community Engagement," the delegates gained fresh perspectives on integrating Round Square ideals into school curriculums. International Coordinators and Round Square Reps, Ms. Binati Misra and Ms. Suchismita Chowdhury actively engaged in these discussions, gaining valuable insights on developing impactful pre- and post-conference initiatives for the upcoming Round Square International Conference (RSIC) 2025 in Dubai. They also explored strategies to amplify Round Square’s role in fostering leadership, cultural sensitivity, and social responsibility in students.

The forum featured vibrant cultural performances by Indian School Al Ghubra students and included inspiring sessions by Round Square CEO Ms. Rachael Westgarth, who emphasized future opportunities, and Chairman Mr. John O’Connor, who addressed the delegates virtually. Delegates also experienced Oman’s cultural richness on the final day through visits to Nizwa Souq and Fort, Jabreen Castle, and the Oman Ages Museum. This cultural immersion enhanced the collaborative experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for diversity.

This forum reinforced the importance of integrating global citizenship into our educational framework. The interactions and discussions were invaluable, providing us with actionable ideas to implement at SAI International Schools. The exchange of ideas with educators from different countries gave us a broader perspective on global challenges and the role of education in addressing them. We are eager to bring these learnings to our schools and empower our students to be true global citizens.
