The students of the Interact Club of SAI International School took part in a meaningful volunteering initiative with the So Am I Foundation during the Women Business Mela 2.0, held at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. Dedicated to the cause of eradicating hunger, the young volunteers promoted the Foundation’s food stall, “Garma Garam,” where each dish was prepared by underprivileged men and women trained by the Foundation itself.
Through their enthusiastic engagement, the students encouraged visitors to support the stall, helping to fund meals for 150 to 200 undernourished individuals daily. Their efforts not only boosted sales but also spread awareness about the Foundation’s mission. By supporting grassroots entrepreneurship and spreading a message of compassion, these young changemakers exemplified the spirit of service and social responsibility.
Reflecting on the experience, one of the student volunteers shared, “It was humbling to see how something as simple as selling food could bring hope and sustenance to so many lives.” Another student, added, “Volunteering here taught us the true power of empathy and community support. It was an unforgettable experience.”
