On January 11th, the observation of Road Safety Week at the BPCL filling station in Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, turned into a powerful campaign aimed at promoting safe driving practices. Students from SAI International Residential School (SIRS), specifically from the Interact Club, IGCSE, and IBCP programs, took center stage in this community initiative.
These dedicated SAIoneers delivered impactful speeches and performed an engaging skit to emphasize the importance of road safety. They further engaged the community by distributing badges and offering personalized counseling sessions to individuals, including taxi and auto drivers, about the critical need for safe driving habits. Placards adorned with catchy captions added a creative touch, capturing the attention of passersby and reinforcing the campaign's message.
The event featured significant contributions from the Road Transport Officer of Bhubaneswar-II and the BPCL Manager, both of whom addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights and tips on road safety. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing public safety.
The campaign concluded with an interactive session held in the school’s auditorium. Here, students engaged in a deeper dialogue with drivers and marshals, discussing practical safety practices and the challenges faced on the roads. The event wrapped up with a commemorative photo session, capturing the spirit of community engagement and the commitment to fostering safer roads.
This initiative by SAIoneers not only highlighted the significance of road safety but also demonstrated the power of youth-led community service in creating positive change.
