IT WIZ Kid: Sampriti Panda of Class XII won a Bronze medal in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), held at Kazan, Russia from August 12 to 19, 2016. More than 300 students from 81 countries participated in the competition. IOI is an annual competitive programming competition held for senior secondary students and is one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world, patronised both by UNESCO and IFIP. Sampriti was one of the four students who represented the country, after a rigorous selection procedure. After his excellent performance in the Zonal Computing Olympiad and the Indian National Olympiad, he underwent training at Bangalore along with 30 students to be selected for the top four students to represent the country.

The Brainy Boys makes it to Semi-finals: Suswet Sukumar Patra and Chinmay Mohanty are the two bright boys who have been selected to compete with nine other teams in the semi-finals of the India Today NEWS WIZ competition to be held at New Delhi in September 2016. The duo who were among the 27 teams, won the preliminary round after defeating the students of Vasant Valley School, New Delhi and Cambridge Court High School, Jaipur. India Today NEWS WIZ competition is an exciting and challenging television quiz show, produced by the famous quiz master Siddhartha Basu, where the brightest and the best informed students from around the country will rake their brains to win the title.

The Quiz Stars to participate in National Finals: Akshat Praneet and Sampriti Panda of Class XII became the Regional Champions by winning the TCS IT Wiz Quiz held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Bhubaneswar. In a closed battle, the brilliant team itched its way to success. The SAIoneers will take part in the National finals of the biggest Inter-school IT Quiz for students (class VIII to XII) to be held in December 2016. Around 1000 students from various schools of the state participated in the event, considered as one of the most prestigious IT quiz in the country, organized by TCS. Started in the year 1999, the competition intends to enhance awareness of the students on the latest developments in Information and Technology.

Champion Anisha wins Gold yet again: In a rare feat, seven year old Anisha Mishra of Class II, who represented the Country, won the Gold medal in Kata category in the ‘International Ryushin Kan Shito Ryu Karate Championship-2016’ held at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Uppalam, Puducherry. The dynamic girl, also won a Gold medal in Black Belt level Kata category and a Bronze medal in Kumite category, in the ’15th All India National Ryushin Kan Shito Ryu Karate Championship held at Puducherry. The little star-kid, trained under the aegis of Karate Champion Ms. Valena Valentina, has been a proud recipient of many National and International awards, representing the state and nation.

The Little Sculptors: Samikhya Nayak and Jijnasa Sahani of Class-X, have been awarded with the ‘Encouragement’ prize in the Model Making competition, held on Sunday August 7, 2016 at Bhubaneswar. Organised by the Regional Museum of Natural History, on its 12th Foundation Day, this competition was open to students from Class VIII to X.
