SAI International marked the grand inauguration of the 13th edition of its flagship international conference, the SAI Model United Nations (SAIMUN 2025), with an atmosphere brimming with global enthusiasm and youthful diplomacy. Themed “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One World, One Family,” the event aims to foster global dialogue, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving among school students from around the world.
The opening day witnessed the participation of over 750 student delegates from 23 countries and 26 reputed schools, coming together to engage in simulated diplomatic dialogue across 10 intellectually challenging committees. The event was inaugurated at the SAI International campus with the presence of dignitaries, educators, and international guests. This year’s committee agendas address a wide range of pressing global issues, including war crimes, climate change, gender rights, arms trade, global health, and international cybersecurity. The committees include UNGA-DISEC, UNSC, UN-Women, WHO, ICC, Indian Parliament, UNICEF, IPC, UNHCR, and UNFCCC.
The day also featured the Felicitation Ceremony, where top-performing students were honoured with the Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo Global SAIoneer Award in Science, Commerce, and Humanities, along with the Emerging Entrepreneur Award, celebrating innovation and academic excellence. These recognitions are a tribute to the visionary ideals of the Late Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder of SAI International Education Group, and reflect the institution’s ongoing commitment to nurturing globally competent future leaders.
A special service initiative also took place on the opening day, where SAI students and international delegates collaborated in a meaningful outreach activity at a school for mentally challenged children. The visit highlighted SAIMUN’s deeper message of empathy, inclusion, and shared humanity, reinforcing the theme of unity and global responsibility.
With vibrant opening sessions, committee ice-breakers, and enthusiastic participation, SAIMUN 2025 began its journey as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange, critical thought, and student-led diplomacy. The inaugural day concluded on a high note, setting the tone for two days of meaningful dialogue and collaboration among the global leaders of tomorrow.
