National Director, AFS Fosters Exchange Programs during his visit to SAI International

Mr. Joseph Kuok, National Director, AFS, visited SAI International School on July 19, 2022 with an objective to formalize and upgrade relations with schools and offer specific opportunities to students and educators through intercultural learning, global citizen education and education for sustainable development. He was warmly greeted by the principals of the school. Shri Nilakantha Panigrahi, Director Academics & Sr. Principal; Smt. Rashmi Pandey, Principal Primary & Shri Prakash Sahoo, Principal Secondary, SAI International School escorted Mr. Kuok for a school tour, walking him through all the nooks and crannies of the institution. He was tremendously impressed by the presentation based on SAI and its ethos as a school, that was presented to him during this visit. He was nothing short of awe for SAI International’s state-of-the art infrastructure, the ingenious laboratories & other facilities designed for SAIoneers to promote experimentation & exploration as a part of their learning process.

AFS Intercultural Programs, a leading international education organization with 70+ years of experience with global exchange programs fosters study abroad programs amidst the youth with an aim to effectively prepare young people to navigate, work and volunteer in global and multicultural environments. Mr. Kuok, in his interaction with Team SAI, further elaborated on the vision and mission of AFS that he wanted to support and expand in terms of intercultural participation & international exchange programs, both for the students as well as the teachers. He congratulated the SAI fraternity for incessantly continuing with the legacy of being one of the top ranked schools & largely looked forward to SAI International’s collaboration in various international programs under AFS.

He enlightened the faculty of SAI International about the varied types of Intercultural and Exchange programs that involves active participation of both students and educators and listed the numerous benefits of being a part of these programs. It emphasized how intercultural exchange is the crux of global citizenship and more students should be made aware of such programs to get adequate opportunities beyond the classroom. The various activities undertaken under AFS are mostly based on core values of dignity, respect for differences, harmony, sensitivity & tolerance, the ethos that SAI International firmly stands by.
