Guruji Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, the first Indian, as well as the first Odia to have earned the extreme honour in the last 228 years of being chosen as the Guest Chaplain, for opening session by an invocation in the highly honoured US House of Representatives, on June 24, 2015, was felicitated at SAI International School, on July 20, 2015 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Guruji, an ardent devotee of Sri Sai Baba and calls himself a servant of Baba epitomizes the true Global Indian and is an ambassador for illumining millions of lives about the culture and heritage of India. A true believer of good karma and judicious use of reason over impulse, Guruji has always advocated principles of truth and virtue over all others.
The felicitation ceremony was graced by, Honrable Minister School & Mass Education and Industries, Shri. Debi Prasad Mishra, Honrable Minister Tourism and Culture, Shri Ashok Chandra Panda and Member of Legislative Assembly, Bhubaneswar North, Shri. Priyadarshi Mishra. Recognizing Guruji’s contribution in spreading the message of humanism, purity, love, compassion and tolerance and admiring his efforts, Shri Debi Prasad Mishra said,Dr. Satpathy is a prominent leader striving for the cause of humanity and peace. His spirit of love, sacrifice and cooperation would certainly benefit our future generation. He is an inspiration to the present generation and is certainly an unparallel laurel to our state. Shri. D. K Ray, Ex-Chairman OERC and Dr. Hara Prasad Das noted Odiya writer, spoke at length on the immense global contributions on Indian culture, philosophy, values and principles.
The repertoire of literature created by him on spiritualism and philosophy in nine Indian and five International languages; besides composing invocatory musical compositions, which have enriched Indian literature and music for a long time, will continue doing so in the near and distant future. Dr. Satpathy has constantly endeavoured for the welfare of the society and the underprivileged. Under his inspiration and able guidance, hundreds of charitable organizations and Non-Government Organizations have dedicated themselves for the welfare of the people all over the world. Addressing the gathering, Guruji took the audience on a historic and spiritual journey of Odisha’s history and culture and said, One should love Shri Sai as one loves their parents and seek His blessing at all times. We all are His children and are ever grateful for His love and protection. Shri Sai, evokes in us pious thoughts and feelings, to shun all hatred and violence and become worthy of His services and further added, God is the master of all. God inspires us to protect and nourish the world around us and guides us along the ethical and holistic path of self control, purity of purpose and dedication, as enshrined in Shrimad Bhagawat Geeta.
