Exploring, Creating, and Calculating: A Week of Discovery for Cambridge Students of Grades IV–VI

by SAI Admin

07 May, 2025

This week brimmed with enriching hands-on learning experiences for the Cambridge students of Grades IV, V, and VI at SAI International. From scientific exploration to cultural celebration and mathematical inquiry, the young SAIoneers showcased curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking across disciplines.

Grade IV Cambridge scientists kicked off the week as seed sleuths during a fascinating Apple Seed Investigation. Predicting, slicing, and counting apple seeds, the students documented their findings, compared results, and even created bar graphs to calculate averages—turning a simple fruit into a real-world science lab, all from home.

In a vibrant celebration of culture, Grade IV also crafted traditional Himachali caps, or Kullu topis, representing the rich heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Using colorful fabrics and patterns, they reflected the styles of districts like Kullu, Chamba, and Kinnaur—merging art, identity, and learning in one delightful activity.

Meanwhile, Grade V Cambridge learners brought astronomy to life through an interactive activity on the Revolution of the Earth, using globes and models to understand seasons and day-night cycles. They also donned the hat of budding statisticians by conducting surveys among families and neighbors, analyzing real-life data through mean, median, and mode.

Together, these dynamic experiences highlighted the power of experiential learning, sparking joy and insight in every young SAIoneer.
