Classical Vocalist Vidushi Padma Talwalkar Visits SAI

Eminent Classical Vocalist Vidushi Padma Talwalkar presented a soul-stirring performance at SAI International School on Friday, November 1, 2019. She was accompanied by Ms. Rasika Barod on Tanpura, Shri Sanjay Adhikari on Tabla and Shri Gaurav Chatterjee on Harmonium. The classical music concert commenced with Raag Ahir Bhairav, and continued with Taal Trikal, Raag Malkauns, and had a wonderful ending with Raag Bhairavi.

It was a highly interactive session where the renowned music Guru invited the students to perform. Two of the SAIoneers performed on the Tabla and one of them enthralled the assemblage with a rendition of Raag Malkauns. Ms. Talwakar advised the students to take interest in music as it is one of the greatest companions and is an eternal source of joy. She inspired the young students to be the best in whatever they undertake through dedication and discipline.

Vidushi Padma Talwalkar received training in Khyal gayaki in three main styles or gharanas Gwalior, Kirana and Jaipur and is considered as a great teacher and artist. She has received various awards for her contribution to Hindustan Classical music. SAI hosts many great artists through Spic Macay with the unique effort to celebrate Indian Classical music and dance.

The artists were highly applauded by everyone for their astounding performance. SAI International School has always given priority in making the young students of the school aware about the rich cultural values of India. The school supports the Spic Macay with the objective to increase awareness about traditional Indian values amongst students through increased exposure to the rich cultural heritage of India and to make education more holistic. SAI hosts many great artists who come to Odisha through the Spic Macay with the unique effort to celebrate Indian Classical music and dance.
