The spirit of cultural harmony and global citizenship marked the opening of the AFS India Regional Meet 2025, hosted at SAI International School. The inaugural ceremony brought together dignitaries, educators, and young leaders for a celebration of intercultural learning and collaboration.

The event was graced by Shri Prithviraj Harichandan, Hon’ble Minister of Law, Works and Excise, Government of Odisha, as the Chief Guest, who officially declared the conference open. The morning began on a soulful note with the AFS Song and the SAI Choir, followed by a symbolic School Flag Ceremony showcasing unity among participating schools.

A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was led by distinguished guests, after which Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson of SAI International Education Group, delivered a heartfelt welcome address. She emphasised the importance of intercultural dialogue, youth leadership, and the values that form the foundation of global harmony.

The gathering was further enriched by inspiring addresses from Mr. Jayant Lal, Member, AFS India Board; Ms. Diya Badgel, National Director, AFS India; and Ms. Carolina, AFS Global, each of whom highlighted the role of cultural exchange in building inclusive and peaceful communities.

With its grand opening, the conference has set the stage for three days of rich dialogue, cultural celebration, and youth-led action, reaffirming the belief that intercultural understanding paves the way for a brighter, more united world.
