The Science students of Class XI visited the Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of National Science Day to attend a full day Special Programme. The theme of the programme was ‘Science for the People and the People for Science’.
The students got an opportunity to attend Lectures, Interacted with Experts, and visited various Laboratories, to witness the facilities and equipment. They also saw an Exhibition on Science.
On the occasion, the Students also got to visit the Office of Survey of India, the premiere National mapping Agency of Government of India under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Students witnessed an exhibition organised at Survey Bhavan in which models were developed basing on futuristic instruments and technology adopted in the field of surveying and mapping.
National Science Day is celebrated every year in India on February 28, to commemorate the discovery of ‘Raman Effect’ by the great Indian Nobel Laureate Dr. C.V.Raman, The Day is celebrated to widely spread a message about the Importance of science used in the daily life of the people, to display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. Simultaneously discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science and encourage the people as well as popularize the Science and Technology.
