YOGA & MEDITATION

The word “Yoga” gets its derivation from the Sanskrit word “yuj” meaning unity or oneness, implying that it is the unity or merger of the consciousness of the individual with the universe.

For the Healthy Body, Mind and Soul

Yoga and Meditation are a way of life for the SAIoneers, aiming to build a healthy mind, body and soul. It involves a broad range of practices, including meditation, contemplation, prayer, and mantra, as well as the preparatory practices leading up to these. Yoga & Meditation also explore all of the levels of reality and self-construction, including the gross (vaishvanara), subtle (taijasa), causal (prajna), and the absolute (turiya), as reflected in the OM Mantra. Finally, Yoga & Meditation lead one to the direct experience of the absolute, pure, eternal centre of consciousness.

Methodology

There are four approaches to attaining the purpose of life: the school of prayer, the school of contemplation, the school of meditation, and that of selfless action. At SAI International School, we systematically explain these schools so that the children understand the differences between them and, according to their own choice and capacity, they can follow one of the schools and finally attain the goal of life, along with being able to balance their emotional volatility.

Yoga is a part of life for the students’ right from class I to XII. Students observe the International Day of Yoga in a grand manner. The hostel students practise morning and sunset yoga, as a daily routine in the school.
