“All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring mind.”- Martin H. Fischer.

The Young Scientists Program for Classes VI - VIII inspires Young SAIoneers to open their eyes to the wonders of the universe, from the tiniest atoms to the vast expanses of space. It teaches them to ask questions, seek evidence, and understand the world around them.

This week, young scientists of Class VI explored innovative approaches to address Environmental Pollution. They engaged in design thinking and problem-solving techniques, particularly focusing on recycling to mitigate the effects of pollution. The session included model presentations on different types of pollution and the causes attributed to thermal power plants. The overarching goal was to instil a sense of responsibility among SAIoneers towards safeguarding ecosystems, preserving human health, and advancing sustainable development goals.

In a parallel endeavour, Class VII students delved into a Project-Based Learning (PBL) initiative cantered on Organic farming. Their objective was to cultivate a scientific and research-oriented mindset while fostering empathy towards the environment. By delving into alternatives to chemical fertilizers and agricultural waste, they explored methods of composting using common household waste, aiming to mitigate environmental impacts.

Simultaneously, Class VIII engaged in discussions regarding e-waste reduction strategies. They examined mechanisms to regulate e-waste collection, storage, and generation, equipping themselves with essential life skills to minimize hazards. Additionally, they focused on understanding regulations pertaining to e-waste management, fostering awareness about its hazards, and contributing to effective e-waste management practices.
