"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead."Nelson Mandela

On 18 July 2025, the students of Classes IX and X observed Nelson Mandela International Day of Peace and Justice with great reverence and enthusiasm. The assembly was organised to honour the life, legacy, and values of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, a global icon of peace, justice, and equality.

The event began with a brief introduction about the significance of Nelson Mandela Day, celebrated every year on July 18, Mandela’s birthday, as declared by the United Nations. The assembly commenced with a peaceful prayer followed by a thoughtful quote that set a reflective tone for the day.

Students delivered an inspiring speech that captured Mandela’s journey from his early life through his 27 years of imprisonment, his fight against apartheid, and his time as President of South Africa. The speech highlighted his unwavering commitment to peace and justice.

A short yet powerful skit was performed by the students, portraying key moments from Mandela’s life. The act especially focused on his courageous stand against racial injustice in South Africa. Through their performance, the students conveyed values such as forgiveness, courage, and non-violence. The skit was followed by an amazing dance performance that celebrated the spirit of unity and hope.

The assembly served as a powerful reminder of Nelson Mandela's enduring legacy. It encouraged students to reflect on the importance of peace, justice, and service to others. Mandela’s values continue to inspire millions around the world, and through this special observance, students were motivated to carry his message forward by becoming responsible and compassionate agents of change in their communities.
