There is a miracle called friendship

That dwells within the heart,

And you don’t know how it happens,

Or when it gets its start.

But happiness it brings you,

Always gives a special lift,

And you realize that friendship,

Is life’s most precious gift.

It is a priceless gift,

It can’t be bought or sold.

But its values are far greater,

Than mountains made of gold.

For gold is cold and lifeless,

It can neither see nor hear.

And in time of trouble,

It is powerless to cheer.

It has no ears to listen,

Nor heart to understand.

It can’t bring you comfort,

Or reach out a helping hand.

So when you ask god for a gift,

Be thankful if he sends….

Not diamonds, pearls or riches,

But the love of real true friends.

Friendship is a budding rose,

With the sweetness rising from each fold.

The stem of courage, hope and care,

Are precious gifts of love so rare.

Amid the thorns are moments of dear

And true friendship lends a caring ears.

A smile, a laugh and a friendly thought,

Are roots that tie the friendship knot.

Take time to smell the friendship rose,

That grows along the friendship road.

Where friendship blossoms never fade,

And seedlings sown are now friends made.

Oh! What joy it is to have a friend like you,

For giving me strength the way you do.

For lifting me up when I’m feeling down;

And putting a smile on my face,

When I am wearing a frown.
