CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress is how the body reacts to any kind of demand, threat or change being experienced. The reaction to a particular situation may differ from person to person. It depends on individual person and how well he or she manages the situation to minimize the stress.

Broadly stress is of two types, eustress (positive stress) and distress (negative stress). Any kind of stress can be managed with positive attitude. For this we need to know and understand a variety of stressors and their consequences.

Ms.Uma Patra, TGT, SAI International School was appointed by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as Resource Person for Capacity Building Programme on Stress Management, held at Sambalpur on Friday, January 24, 2020.

The workshop was attended by 67 Teachers from across Western Odisha. She briefed the participants on the need and importance of Stress Management as well as on the myth and misconception regarding stress. She also briefed them about different types of stressors like physical, psychological, emotional and social. She shared the techniques to manage different kinds of stress in various environment in an effective way like meditation, self-help techniques, music, yoga, relaxing massages, cultural programs.
