At SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, storytelling was given a global stage through the unique initiative “Story Relay – Pass the Baton.” The collaborative project brought together young learners from across countries to co-create a novel, one chapter at a time, weaving diverse perspectives into a unified story.

Since its launch in 2023, Story Relay has grown rapidly. The first edition featured 11 schools from India and Nigeria, while the second saw 18 schools from six countries participate. The third edition in 2025 reached new heights, with 20 schools from Qatar, UAE, UK, India, and Pakistan contributing to this creative journey. This year’s theme, “Sky is the Limit,” encouraged boundless imagination, with participants also audio-recording and dramatising their chapters to create a vibrant audiobook.

Beyond creative writing, the initiative nurtures essential 21st-century skills including critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. More importantly, it fosters empathy, teamwork, and the joy of shared imagination. With each edition, Story Relay continues to reaffirm that imagination knows no borders and creativity has no limits.
