The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) is the national Scouting and Guiding association of India established with an aim to inculcate and promote reverence to God/Dharma and selfless service to Mother and Humanity.
Camporee is a local or regional gathering of Scouting units for a period of camping and common activities. The 28th District Camporee of Bharat Scouts and Guides was held at Capital High School, Bhubaneswar from November 1 to 3, 2018. Twenty-Five Scouts and Guides students of SAI International School took part in the 3-day camp.
Two thousand fifty-one Scouts and Guides from around 70 Schools participated in the event. Several activities were conducted like demonstration on firefighting, first aid etc. SAI students participated in various competitions, adventure activities, cultural programme, Peace March etc. Guide Krishna Tanutrishna bagged the first position in the painting competition held during the 3-day camp.
In India Scouting was founded in 1909 as an overseas branch of the Scout Association. It became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1938. Guiding started in the Country in the year 1911 and it was amongst the founder members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1928.
