On 25 April 2025, students of Class VII at SAI International School delved into the wonders of biology through an engaging and imaginative hands-on activity. As part of their Science curriculum, the young learners constructed detailed models of the Human Respiratory System—using leaves as their primary material.
Showcasing impressive creativity and collaboration, the students crafted representations of the nose, trachea, bronchi, lungs, and diaphragm. The use of natural elements not only added a unique artistic dimension to the project but also encouraged eco-consciousness and tactile learning.
By building the respiratory system from scratch, students gained a clearer understanding of how the various parts function together to support the vital process of breathing. This experiential learning approach helped simplify complex biological concepts and brought textbook knowledge to life in a fun and memorable way.
The activity served as a powerful reminder that learning can be both inventive and impactful when students are given the freedom to explore through creativity and teamwork.
