The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has bestowed SAI International School with the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2016, in the excellent category for its outstanding sanitation and hygiene practice. SAI International which achieved an overall score of 95% and a five star rating, is one of the foremost Schools of the Country, to be selected for the National level award. The evaluation was conducted on parameters that include water, sanitation, hand washing with soap, hygienic operations and maintenance, behavioral change and capacity-building.

The Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya (SBSV) initiative was launched in the year 2014 by MHRD to ensure that every school in India has a set of functioning and well maintained water, sanitation and hygiene facilities as well as promote safe and appropriate hygiene practices in schools and behavior among children. The explicit purpose of the awards is to honour schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign.
