The e-Summer Camp of SAI International held from June 1 to 14, 2020, is an amalgamation of creativity and technology. Enthusiastic students from Play Group to Class XII, are actively participating in the fun-filled Camp. The evening Expert Session held every day, is for the entire family to destress, learn, reflect and have greater awareness about the world around them.
Leading Comedian Shankar and team staged the popular drama, ‘Patent Medicine’, during the Entertainment Expert Session of the e-Summer Camp, on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Written by Byasakabi Fakir Mohan Senapati, the humorous social satire is loved by generations of people of the state. The extremely entertaining show was brilliantly presented by the very talented artists.
During the Entertainment Session, Shri Shankar had a tete-a-tete with Founder and Mentor, Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, which was thoroughly loved by the viewers. Dr.Sahoo shared his journey from a Chartered Accountant to an Educationist. He spoke about his connect with the students and the importance of happiness in creating a positive aura. He appreciated Shri Shankar for his ability to put across key social messages through comedy.
The morning activities were equally exciting and provided a great learning experience to the children. The senior secondary students had a session on fitness, discussed different games, learnt some intricacies of photography and got some vital lessons on playing guitar. Class X also had some sessions on music where they learnt to play keyboard and violin and went on to make some clay modelling. Class XI were engrossed in synchronizing the aerobics steps with the song Mile Sur from Street Dancer and Ye lelo. There was also a Communication skill session where they heard wonderful stories and interacted about ‘Accepting one’s flaws’.
The visual art session for Class VII taught them clay modelling and different sculpture works along with carving. Class VII children had a session on Violin & Tabla and a session on Health and Hygiene. Class VI had energetic and fun filled dance moves on Bhangra, Hip Hop, and Jazz. The students were truly inspired to learn and dance along the trainer. Class IV had sessions on dramatics where they were briefed on how to express various emotions. While the second session on Life Skill taught them the significance of self-discipline and discipline at home.
Class I had great fun learning the steps of folk dance and one of the popular songs, ‘dil hai chota sa, choti si asha’. They also made paper fishes, boat and a bird during the session on origami. The participants of Class II learnt to create clay elephants. Later they had an energetic session on Zumba. Class III participants made beautiful wall hangings from waste materials like old bangles and calendars. It ended with an energetic session on folk dance.
The kindergartners of KG I and II had an amazing time. The little Master Chefs of KG I learnt tasty bread chaat, chocolate ladoo and chilled lassi. Next they went on to make stick masks and their happiness knew no bounds when they made masks of their favourite cartoon characters. The KG II participants started off with some folk dance, which they thoroughly enjoyed and went on to have more fun, learning blow painting with poster colours, paint brush, straws, scale, sketch pens and water. No doubt it was a fun-filled time for the kids. The youngest batch of students had sessions on music and learnt to make watermelon pizza, which is yummy and healthy.
