SAI Heritage Treasure Hunt, yet another initiative of SAI International School to involve the parents in fun filled activities that lead towards strengthening the bonds between the School and the parents was held on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

At SAI International we believe that this event helps in providing a welcome break for both the parents and the students’ in-between the busy and routine lives prevalent in present times. The parents enjoyed quality time with their children by working together to crack various clues and achieve a common goal of reaching the heritage points. Some of the heritage points for the Treasure Hunt were were Udaygiri, Dhauligiri, Chandaka Elephant Sanctuary, Ekamra Bana, Buddha Art Gallery other points of cultural heritage of the city. It was indeed thrilling to see the competitive spirit shown by all the participating families. Treasure Hunt is also a great technique to make the young children learn the driving discipline amidst of entertainment. The young SAIoneers even got a tremendous opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage of our city while solving the puzzles given to them.

The School associated with the Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar – Cuttack and Department of Tourism, Odisha and Tata Steel for this grand event. The treasure hunt was flagged off by Shri. Satyabrata Bhoi, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar and Chairman, Dr B.K. Sahoo along with Shri Harish Sanduja, Principal, SAI International School, at 8:30 am in the morning with around 150 participating families. All the teams were expected to go on a scavenger hunt of 12 identified heritage points where Marshalls from the School were deputed to acknowledge and stamp their arrival.

At the end it was the combination of intelligence, patience and astuteness with a winning spirit. The winner of the second edition of SAI Heritage Treasure Hunt 2015 was Achyut Jena of Nursery-A, with his parents who bagged the first prize of a Honda Activa. The second prize of a Firefox 6 gear cycle went to Devansh Das of Class III-H, and his family while the third prize of a Home Theatre was taken by Astha Padhy of Class VI-A, and her family. Apart from this there were five consolation prizes of touch screen smart phones.
