UTKAL DAY CELEBRATED AT SAI

To commemorate the formation of Odisha as a separate province and to create awareness among the students on the painstaking effort of the legendary leaders to amalgamate the scattered Odia speaking tracts to create a new province basing on Odia language as well as to acquaint them on the age-old rich culture and tradition of the State, a function was organised at SAI International School on Thursday, March 30, 2017. It was graced by Noted writer and IPS Officer, Dr. Debasis Panigrahi, I.G. Of Police, Personnel Dept, Odisha and Dr. Tamasarani Dasmohapatra, Principal, Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bhubaneswar. Among other present were Dr. Bijoy Kumar Sahoo, Chairman SAI International School, Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Trustee, Shri Harish Sanduja, Principal and others.

In her address, Dr. Dasmohapatra briefed the students on the various struggle movements that led to the creation of Odisha as a State and urged them to keep the language and culture of the State alive by developing a bonding with it. Dr. Panigrahi advised the students to understand and assimilate the glorious, diversified, rich and the vibrant age-old culture, literature and tradition of the State and take pride in being an Odia. He suggested them to take active role in translating the rich literature of the state and make it known world-wide.

The students of SAI International School showcased a wonderfully crafted programme. It commenced with an invocation to God, followed by a group song, a poem recitation, skit and a group dance, capturing the quintessential essence of the culture of the State.
