GAYATRI ROUT, CLASS – IX-E
When we speak of mothers, we are talking about an entity perhaps far greater than God Himself. Mothers are the most reverend of humans who make us what we are, help us visualize things in a broader way and, above all, understand us like no one else can!
It is but to thank them that we celebrate Mother’s Day. With cakes, cards, chocolates, flowers, photo-framed memories and even jewellery, we try to thank our mothers for the innumerable sacrifices they did, sleeping very little at nights, being by our bedside when we were sick, giving us their best at all times and for instilling in us the belief that we are capable of achieving whatever we want. She is always a voice of reason in the back of my head, which helps me get through my bad days and make my good days even better. Most of all, my mother teaches me how to be compassionate and loving. “Thank you” seems like a very small word in front of Mothers, who not just help us dream, but realize them step by step. Life wouldn’t be so beautiful if it was without our angels, our mothers! A Mother’s heart is always very soft and patient. Her heart is like a rare jewel. She waits for us in the afternoon at the door after doing all the daily chores. She prepares a delicious dinner in the night and always takes care of our likes and dislikes. She helps us in doing our homework and project. She is never tired off giving lots of love and care like ocean can never be water less. She is unique and only one in the whole universe whom nothing can replace. A mother’s position is more than any millionaire. Her job is out of bounds. She needs no money but love and care.
Yes, to some extent Mother’s day is commercialized and a single day can be too short for some connections… but that does not mean one day is not needed. Even for those who have lost their mother in the busy streets of commercialized gratitude and gift giving; one day to remember is good. It is also important to understand that one day is never enough. That even a life is short for showing gratitude. ‘Mother’ is a word that will keep us protected even when you are old and you have a nightmare.
-Love her not once, but as long the flame in you, lives and even after that.
