A team of six enthusiastic students from SAI International School, accompanied by their mentor Ms. Yamini Rajpal, embarked on an exciting journey to Jamnagar to attend the prestigious Round Square Conference, hosted by Dhirubhai Ambani International School. The program, designed to foster leadership, global collaboration, and innovative thinking, began on a high note as our young delegates joined peers from across the world to exchange ideas and experiences.
Day 1 marked the arrival of the delegation in Jamnagar. The day was spent settling in, connecting with fellow participants, and immersing in the warm and vibrant atmosphere of the event. The team carried with them the spirit of curiosity and eagerness to embrace the rich learning opportunities ahead.
Day 2 unfolded with renewed energy, beginning with a hearty breakfast and a detailed debriefing session that oriented students about the day’s activities. The serene Green Retreat Resort served as a refreshing backdrop, where students engaged in planning and practice sessions for the much-anticipated Sustainable Innovation Showcase (SIS). These collaborative exercises encouraged teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking as students refined their innovative presentations.
Post lunch, the delegation moved to the Activity Centre at Vantara Niwas, where the vibrant environment added to the spirit of learning. Welcomed with high tea, the participants engaged in a variety of enriching activities. A key highlight was the keynote address by Dr. Vibha Chhabra Bakshi, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and changemaker, celebrated for her award-winning documentary Son Rise. Dr. Bakshi’s powerful words on resilience, leadership, and social change deeply resonated with the students, inspiring them to view challenges as opportunities for innovation and growth. The evening continued with baraza sessions, where students actively discussed, debated, and exchanged perspectives with peers from other institutions. These interactions not only broadened their horizons but also nurtured essential life skills such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. The day concluded with a wholesome dinner, offering moments of reflection and informal bonding.
The first two days of the conference have already set the stage for a transformative experience, one that promises to shape our SAIoneers into confident leaders and compassionate global citizens.
